Bonjour!/Welcome!
My name is Sarah Cacciotti and I will be your child’s French teacher for the year. I am so happy to have him/her in my classroom and I am excited to start the new school year.
I am from Sudbury, Ontario and I am going into my seventh year of teaching. I love the outdoors and playing sports. My favorite sports are soccer, football, dance, ultimate frisbee and hockey. I also love to go fishing and horseback riding.
Learning is a life-long goal and passion of mine that I enjoy sharing with my students every day. When it comes to the classroom, I create a safe learning environment so that each of my students can grow and learn to their full potential and take risks. I believe it is important to always be positive and to encourage all of my students when learning a second language. I expose my students to the French language and to its culture to encourage them to succeed in this program.
I will be using Twitter (@MmeSarah1) to communicate directly with parents on what students are doing in the classroom and sharing important information. The students will also be tweeting what they are learning with a different Twitter handle (name to be determined). This extends the learning outside the classroom and connect with others as well as develops responsibility while using technology. We will be using technology on a regular basis to expand and support our learning. It is important that students are responsible when using technology and use them for work purposes and not for personal use. This website is used if you wish for your child to read, listen to french shows or play french games to practice at home.
***Homework---The grade 4 and 5 students will have a homework duotang that will go home on Mondays and be returned on Fridays. The homework will be grammar related or reading a text. Every second week, homework will be done online. I may get students to create a google site to do some written homework. This website is used for resources if you would like your child to do extra work. There are many great websites to use.
I look forward to working with you in the future. Please do not hesitate to contact me at school if you have any questions or concerns.
